Waikiki Sunset Panorama

Snapped a bunch of pics taken with the phone at Waikiki, right next to the aquarium, and used Autostitch to put together this panoramic shot.

Lamin-X

The problem with head lights is that eventually the light covers will fog, and it's a pain to polish it out. A fellow G driver introduced me to Lamin-X protective films which looked good on his black G37. I ordered a set for the front headlights to protect it from rock chips and so I'd never have to polish again, only to realize the films are darker than I expected, and made the overall look a bit unbalanced. I then ordered a set for the rear lights, got the lightest color, but it's still darker than the front. Actually liked how bright the red lights are in the back, but had to darken it so everything flows. The film is made of relatively thick plastic and not the usual thin overlay tint films, hopefully it'll last forever.

Mutation

Took the shot with the phone camera, a mutation of the Blc. Hawaiian Passion. The original is green flower, green lips, this mutation has purple lips that gives a good contrast. New clones of the same mutation is being produced in the lab, hopefully we'll have this on the market in few years.

G/Z Cruise 7/6/08

Had another great meet today, at least 30 cars showed up, the largest turn out we ever had. One of the old G35 driver upgraded to a Dodge Viper ACR and brought it out to the meet, what an upgrade! Viper coupe (1st gen) is still one of my all time favorites.

We decided to cruise to a near by car show (which we later found out had no permit for park usage), HPD sent out what seemed like their entire on duty force, me and another G got pulled over to check for recon (reconstructed work done on cars), I lucked out, no ticket, but the ricers at the park were not so lucky.

Cloning orchid

This is what I've been doing for the past year, practicing once a week at the UH tissue culture lab on cloning orchid. A very sloooow process, takes at least one year to see any progress. I'm fortunate enough to train with Professor Sagawa, who is very famous in the field of orchids, before he retires (and for free). Hopefully our Thailand lab can start soon so I can put some of these training to good use.
